About Us
Stick and Stone Farm is located in the Town of Ulysses just 4.5 miles northwest of Ithaca, NY.
We raise 40-50 acres of certified organic vegetables each year while managing a total of just over125 acres of land on and around our home farm. We always aim to have at least 50% of our land in cover crop or green manures in order to build soil fertility and reduce weeds.
We are slowly planting a orchard of apples, peaches, pears, cherries, nectarines and plums, all organically grown.
Here's how it all started:
1995
Chaw Chang and friends Karen Wynne and Rebecca Morgan start Stick and Stone Farm as a small market garden at what is now Oeschner Farm in nearby Newfield, NY.
1998
We started wholesaling to local restaurants and groceries, but Karen and Rebecca had then moved out of the area.
2000
Lucy Garrison joined the farm
2003
We moved to our present home site location in the Town of Ulysses
2005
Lucy and Chaw get married!
We begin the Full Plate Farm Collective CSA along with our friends at Remembrance Farm and 3 Swallows Farm.
Today!
We now employ about 10 people, with 4 year-round employees, plus occasional support from our homegrown crew of 4 future farmers.
We continue to collaborate with Remembrance Farm to offer CSA shares through the The Full Plate Farm Collective. Together we serve 800 households each summer and 400 households in the winter. We now run our own Subsidized CSA program through the Full Plate Farm Collective ensuring access to our produce.
In addition to our CSA, our produce can be found throughout Ithaca, the Fingerlakes and New York State. Details below...
